Dollard’s Lake Davis Fishing Report

Wednesday 6/29/2009

The lake received at least 3 truck loads of catch able size plants for the week of 6/21. One of those fish was caught by Jim Jennings at 11 am on Sunday 6/26. Jim’s prize weighed 5.255 lbs. and hit a # 2 Pearl Bikini Needlefish that was trolled 8 feet below the surface on the east side of the big Island. Water surface temperatures are running 67 degrees. Fishing is rated as fair for those trolling, fly fishing or fishing from shore with bait. The damsel hatch has been light however Pheasant Tail Bead Heads and Sheep Creek specials are patterns that have been consistently producing fish up to 19 inches.

Recent Catches:

6/24, Roger Wyman and his God Son Sherman Wyman landed twenty plus fish up to 18 inches while fly fishing from their float tubes at Eagle point. Their successful presentation was using Pheasant tail flies about 4 feet under an indicator.

Week of 6/21, bait fishing from shore has been steady at Eagle Point.

Week of 6/21, Dillard’s Guided Fishing had 7 groups with a typical catch of 20 to 30 fish per outing. Ed has had to play with the depth however 8 to 12 feet has been the best trolling dept. Wee Dick Nites continue to be the hot lure. Troll the channel outside the Honker Cove boat ramp and go n. towards the Big Island.

6/28, Lewis Neely and R. Klundby had a good fly fishing day. They used P.Ts. under and indicator and at times stripping with intermediate lines. They fished Eagle point, Cow and Freeman creek areas.
