Lake Davis Fishing Report
Dollard’s Lake Davis Fishing Report
January 7,
2010
Ice fishing
results are rated as fair to off the charts for those anglers getting an early
start to their new year of fishing. Access to the lake is good at the dam and
on the east side road down as far as Mallard Cove. The ice is reported to be 5
to 6 inches thick; however the thickness can change quickly and should be used
with caution. Good success has been coming at the dam, Coot Bay and if you’re up to a longer hike
the area at the west side of the Island. The hot bait has been a salmon egg worm combination. Fish
size has been running from 12 to 17 inches. Portola’s Joe Wirtz & Mike Trukki, reported
catching and releasing approximately 50 fish up to 17 inches last week.
They were fishing by the dam in water that is 37 to 48 feet deep.
